Multidimensional Hazard and Climate Change Adaptation Assessment Tool

This platform uniquely blends reporting on climate-change-related phenomena with numerous other hazards, both climate-related and non-climate related hazards. As such, it is multidimensional, in that, it allows for the assessment of complex, compound and cascading impacts of events.

In Small Island Developing States (SIDS), these impacts have increased in recent decades and are projected to continue increasing in the future due to climate change. The interactions between different hazards offer an opportunity to increase the body of knowledge on the nexus between disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in SIDS, with a view to improving the resilience among their populations.

This platform is mainly concerned with recording local resilience-building actions, either at the household or community levels, with an eye towards assessing their effectiveness over time.
